EYE 5 – PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2020

Due to COVID-19 and restrictions, things will look a little different this year for our annual photography competition.

Take a photo of what you see within your 5km radius. Through your eyes, capture what’s in your bubble – some inspiration could be street life, home life or nature!

Be as creative as you can for your chance to win!

ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

Our annual photography competition celebrates our great local community. Thank you to everyone who has submitted photographs in the past. We look forward to your return and wish you luck in this year’s selection process. Entry cost: FREE

IMPORTANT DATES

Entries open: 9 am 18th August

Entries close: 5 pm 17th September

Virtual photography exhibition: From 29th September

Once restrictions are lifted we may exhibit the entries at Highett Neighbourhood Community House.

By submitting your photo you agree to the terms and conditions listed below.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Photos accepted into the Eye spy with my little eye! – Photography competition in 2020 only includes photography.
  2. Photos will be on display on the Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center website and social media platforms. Submissions must be appropriate to be displayed on a public website – artwork that Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center deems inappropriate will not be displayed. Entrants will be contacted if the artwork is not accepted.
  3. This exhibition is a celebration of our community whilst in lockdown and your 5km radius. Unless the photo is deemed inappropriate (as stated above) photography will be accepted and displayed on the Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center website and promoted on social media sites.
  4. Submissions are accepted from 18th August 2020 – 5 pm 17th September 2020. Submissions will not be accepted after this date.
  5. Entrants can be of any age.
  6. Entries must be through the online submission form.
  7. Up to 3 photos can be accepted per entrant.
  8. The exhibition will be digital. Photos must be less than 5 MB each.
  9. Entrants and/or parents/guardians authorise Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center to share your photo entry, your first name, age and description of the photo on the Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center website and Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center Facebook and Instagram pages. Photos may be reproduced for promotional purposes for this event including print and digital formats.
  10. Photos can be sold as part of this exhibition. Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center will contact the entrant and/or their parent guardian if they are under 18 expressing their interest to sell the photo and cost. Members of the public who enquire about purchasing photos will email events@highett.org.au and details will be passed to the entrant or their parent and/or guardian. It will be at the discretion of a parent and/or guardian to contact the interested buyer. Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center will not be part of the negotiation, selling, or delivery of photo. Entrants and buyers enter into these agreements independent of Highett Neighbourhood Community House and Hampton Community Center.
  11. Photos may be on display for members to view at Highett Neighbourhood Community House once restrictions have been lifted and permitted to enter the premises.
  12. If submitting more than one photo, only one photo will be selected to be displayed at Highett Neighbourhood Community House. This will be at the discretion of Highett Neighbourhood Community House & Hampton Community Centre.
  13. The winners will be announced Wednesday 30th September by close of business by phone and publicly announced on Facebook and our website.
  14. First prize: $150 and Second prize: $100. The judge’s decision is final.
  15. Photography submitted must have been taken by the entrant and no other.
  16. Photography submitted must have been taken within 5km of your residence and taken in 2020.
  17. Entrants must live within Bayside City Council or the City of Kingston.
