  • Claudia Buehrer

    Originally from the beautiful Black Forest in South Germany, Claudia migrated to Australia 20 years ago. Claudia has been teaching Pilates across Australia since 2009.

    Claudia’s knowledge and guidance aids her students in working their bodies to achieve success. Her careful explanations of anatomy in relation to the movements matched with her kind and gentle manner gets the best out of her students.

    Claudia has several qualifications including a Diploma’s in Slings Myofascial Training and Contemporary Pilates & Teaching Methodology.

  • Craig Penny

    Craig has been teaching his very popular Acrylic painting class at Hampton Community Centre for 7 years.

    An established teacher and artist, Craig has made a name for himself in the art world, and specifically in the Bayside area for his art and his fun, easy going nature.

    In his spare time Craig privately hosts a number of travelling teaching art holidays, taking keen students to all parts of the world to paint in beautiful locations across the globe. When he isn’t teaching, Craig can be found working on a new piece for his latest exhibition.

  • Beata Dorain

    Beata is a versatile artist who enjoys working with various mediums and techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture and pottery. Beata’s true passion lies in ceramic figurative sculptures. Her sculptures are hand built from clay using the coiling technique, and painstakingly textured by hand.

    Beata also loves creating pots, bowls and other functional objects and exploring and experimenting with new pottery techniques.

    Classically trained at the Academy of Fine Arts, Wroclaw, Poland, Beata completed five years of study in Ceramic and Design.

  • Maryanne Buhanec

    Maryanne’s journey as a dance instructor began in 2010. Maryanne is passionate about dancing, which she notes has been her calling for many years.

    Becoming a Zumba instructor brought clarity. With a Mauritian background, Maryanne loves Latin rhythms. Her goal is to help people in a simple and realistic way, believing exercise is medicine in motion.

    Maryanne enjoys sharing her energy with the class and seeing their faces light up as they dance, exercise and have fun.

  • Mindy Wen

    Mindy discovered line dancing in 2016 and it has greatly changed her life! What started as a fun hobby quickly became a passion thanks to its many benefits.

    Mindy evolved from student to teacher, eager to share the joy of line dancing with others. Whether its classic favourites or the latest dances, her classes burst with energy, blending diverse music genres and adapting teaching styles to keep every session fresh and exciting.

    She believes line dancing should be fun and accessible for everyone, breaking down steps and adjusting the pace so everyone leaves smiling. Her greatest reward? Seeing students gain confidence, forging connections, and fall in love with line dancing, just like she did!

  • Sara Fliess

    Sara is an incredibly accomplished fitness instructor with 12+ years of experience. Sara has a Certificate 3/4 in Fitness and Personal Training, is Living Longer Living Stronger (COTA) qualified (including training for chronic illness), is a boxing, Metafit, MetaPWR and Kettlebell instructor and a specialist in core strength and core restoration. Phew!

    Sara's wealth of knowledge and expertise has gathered a devoted following among her students.
    A long time Bayside resident, when she isn’t at our Centres, Sara runs several of her own private classes.

  • Suzy Lee

    Suzy is one of our wonderful art teachers, running creative classes at both our Hampton and Highett Centres. Suzy truly wants the best for her students, often happily telling staff of the impressive progress her pupils are making. Suzy has a patient and caring demeanour when teaching, offering classes for all levels whether you’re a beginner or brushing up on an old skill.

    Suzy loves using all different mediums when creating her own pieces and is a well established artist in Bayside. Most recently Suzy had 4 of her works presented in the 2023 Bayside Art Festival.
