Join Jaz as you explore and learn the versatile skill of Crochet. These classes are perfect for true beginners or those wanting to brush up on an old skill with the added bonus of a social and supportive group setting.

From simple stitches to granny squares, you will learn and embed the basics of crochet so you can create your own threaded piece of art. 

The classes will guide you through the foundational concepts and skills of Crochet. Jaz's experience will guide you to create your very own crochet pieces.

This is a small group with only 10 participants.

Materials list:
- Crochet hooks size 4 or 4.5 (Kmart sell a 9 pack for $7.50)
- 8 ply yarn, 3 different colours, cotton, wool or acrylic. Please ensure it’s basic yarn, not fluffy, textured etc (this is too difficult to handle)
- Any other crochet equipment and yarn you have
- Your enthusiasm

  • TERM DATES 2026

    Term 1: 27 Jan – 5 April
    Term 2: 20 April – 28 June 
    Term 3: 13 July – 20 Sept
    Term 4: 5 Oct - 13 Dec 

  • REFUNDS & CREDITS

    • There are no refunds for any class bookings. Once booked, the class fees are non-refundable.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it is valid for use within the same calendar year in which it was applied.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it can be applied towards any eligible workshop offered during the same calendar year.
    • The credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of payment.
    • It is the Management discretion if a credit is offered to customers.

  • MEMBERSHIP & CLASS FEES

    • A $20 membership fee per calendar year is required when joining a class or workshop at our centres.
    • The membership fee covers usage at both Highett and Hampton Community Centres.
    • The membership fee is non-refundable.
    • Class fees for the following term must be paid before the end of the current term to secure your spot in the class.
    • If you plan on "missing a term," class fees must still be paid to ensure your place in the class for the subsequent term.
    • The membership fee is separate from the class fees and is payable annually per calendar year.
