TESTIMONIALS

"I am the proud provider of counselling sessions for twice-exceptional students. These students are gifted (the top 10% of the population in a specific skill) but also have a disability of some sort that interferes with their schooling. Highett Neighbourhood House was kind enough to provide me with space when Kids Like Us was forced to close at the end of 2022. I’ve been using the Livingston room ever since it was remodelled. It is no longer an uninviting space languishing behind a sealed door. Instead, it has become a calm area where the complicated students I work with feel safe enough to continue the work towards discovering their futures. Being able to find this sort of atmosphere and safe space to be themselves has been essential for them this year. The room's design seems to hold their feelings and emotions but still provides the space to move if needed. It is a safe inviting place where I can work and not feel concerned about privacy or security, somewhere I am booking again and again." Anne Jackson

"I would like to provide some positive feedback on the recent upgrade to the meeting rooms provided at the Highett Neighbourhood Community House. Specifically, the Livingston Room which has been newly refurbished and is looking fantastic. I coordinate the Kinship Carers Support Group on a monthly basis at the Centre and have been utilizing the facility for this purpose for over the past 10 years. The Centre overall is looking fabulous with the gradual refurbishment of several of the meeting rooms recently and is the best-presented Community space OzChild uses in running groups in the Community.  The environment of the Livingston Room specifically is relaxing, welcoming and very nicely decorated.  As we hold our sessions we are comfortable in the furniture provided and the room temperature is able to be tuned to our needs.  The personal touches of artwork on the walls and other decorative items create the feel of being in someone’s Living Room and are exactly the sort of atmosphere we like to invite our carers to come into. I would like to commend all concerned on the upgrades.  It is an absolute pleasure to work in such a lovely venue." Sue Gale

Testimonial from Kaye

Firstly can I just say how much I’ve enjoyed hiring out a space at the Highett Neighbourhood House! The venue is 5 star and the staff are amazing and helpful. The space I rent is just perfect for my use and the extras like coffee/tea/fridge/foyer are amazing and my clients have all commented on how nice it is.
