Master the art of hand-building and glazing while creating beautiful pieces like bowls, flower pots, tiles, and figurines. Enjoy a fun, social atmosphere with fellow art enthusiasts—perfect for sharing ideas and inspiration.

Materials included: 1/2 a bag of clay (additional clay can be purchased for $20 for an extra 1/2 bag), glazes and tools.

WHEN: Wednesdays 1 - 3 pm (Term 4, 10 weeks from 9 October)   or
            Thursdays 6 - 8 pm (EOI)
COST: $37 per class when paid in full for the term (including materials)

Please Note:

  • We do NOT use pottery wheels in this class. 
  • Only the clay purchased and made in the center will be fired (works brought from home will not be accepted).
  • Due to rising energy costs and limited space with the kiln, students will only be able to fire a max 8 pieces no larger than 15 x 15 x 15cm per term
  • Larger pieces may not get fired & might need to be taken off-site to be fired.
  • We do not offer make-up classes. (special circumstances might be considered by the manager and need to be applied for).
  • Please note the classes start and finish on time. Please allow sufficient time (at least 10 minutes) before the end of class for packing up, cleaning the tools, and putting the projects away safely.
  • Although we try our best, please be aware that the works created in the last few weeks of term may not get fired during that term. They will be fired as soon as possible.
  • Please be respectful to our teachers, staff and other students.
  • Please clean and put away all tools, equipment and materials used in the class to the designated place and wipe the tables.
  • Please be mindful about not wasting the materials as we have a commitment to be as sustainable as possible.

  • REFUNDS & CREDITS

    • There are no refunds for any class bookings. Once booked, the class fees are non-refundable.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it is valid for use within the same calendar year in which it was applied.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it can be applied towards any eligible workshop offered during the same calendar year.
    • The credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of payment.
    • It is the Management discretion if a credit is offered to customers.
  • MEMBERSHIP & CLASS FEES

    • A $15 membership fee per calendar year is required when joining a class or workshop at our centres.
    • The membership fee covers usage at both Highett and Hampton Community Centres.
    • The membership fee is non-refundable.
    • Class fees for the following term must be paid before the end of the current term to secure your spot in the class.
    • If you plan on "missing a term," class fees must still be paid to ensure your place in the class for the subsequent term.
    • The membership fee is separate from the class fees and is payable annually per calendar year.
