Planning a trip? Make it unforgettable by crafting your personalised traveler’s guidebook filled with cultural insights, fun facts, and essential conversational Spanish tailored to your journey.

What you'll do:

  • Learn basic Spanish phrases and expressions specific to your destination

  • Discover cultural tidbits to help you blend in and connect authentically

  • Create a fun, memory-filled travel guide that’s all your own—from planning to postcards

  • Build confidence in speaking with locals and navigating real-life travel situations

By the end of the course, you’ll have:

  • Your own custom travel guidebook

  • Practical Spanish for everyday situations

  • A deeper cultural understanding of where you're going

  • A keepsake ready to be filled with your trip’s highlights and memories

Whether you're heading to Spain, Mexico, or anywhere Spanish is spoken, this short and interactive course brings your adventure to life before you even pack your bags.

Class preparations:

  • Please email any queries you have around cultural customs, lifestyle of locals in Spain / Colombia prior to the class (if able). Please email them to adminhcc@highett.org.au

Students will be asked to bring:

  • Suggested materials for collaging book (these will be sent to you prior to the class start date)

  • List of where you are going

    Level: Beginner to Intermediate

    Time: Monday 9.30 - 11 am

    Learning and workbook will be required: The book will be purchased after discussing it in the first class.

  • Spanish Beginners

    Level: Suitable for those who are completely new to the Spanish language.

    Time: Monday 11am - 12.30 pm

    Learning and workbook requirements will be discussed in first class.

  • Spanish A1

    Level: Intermediate

    Time: Tuesday 9.30-11 am

    Learning and workbook required:
    No book required.

  • Spanish A2

    Level: Intermediate

    Time: Tuesday 6 - 7pm via Zoom

    Learning and workbook required:
    No book required.

  • Spanish B1

    Level: Intermediate to Advanced

    Time: Tuesday 11 am - 12:30 pm

    Learning and workbook will be required: The book will be purchased after discussing it in the first class.

  • Spanish B2

    Level: Advanced

    Time: Tuesday 1.30 - 3pm

    Learning and workbook will be required: The book will be purchased after discussing it in the first class.

    You will need to purchanse the learning and workbooks relating to your specific class. These can be purchased online.

  • REFUNDS & CREDITS

    • There are no refunds for any class bookings. Once booked, the class fees are non-refundable.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it is valid for use within the same calendar year in which it was applied.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it can be applied towards any eligible workshop offered during the same calendar year.
    • The credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of payment.
    • It is the Management discretion if a credit is offered to customers.
  • MEMBERSHIP & CLASS FEES

    • A $20 membership fee per calendar year is required when joining a class or workshop at our centres.
    • The membership fee covers usage at both Highett and Hampton Community Centres.
    • The membership fee is non-refundable.
    • Class fees for the following term must be paid before the end of the current term to secure your spot in the class.
    • If you plan on "missing a term," class fees must still be paid to ensure your place in the class for the subsequent term.
    • The membership fee is separate from the class fees and is payable annually per calendar year.
