Highett Community Centre

Our Strength & Balance classes are designed to help you build muscle, improve stability and move with greater confidence in everyday life. Through guided exercises that focus on functional strength, coordination and balance, these classes support better posture, mobility and overall wellbeing.

Suitable for a range of fitness levels, it’s a welcoming and supportive way to stay active and strong.

Our instructors look forward to guiding you through each session and helping you build strength and confidence in a fun, supportive environment!

WHEN: Mondays - 9:10 am - 10:10 am (T2, 9 wks from 20 Apr)
             Mondays - 11:30 am - 12:20 pm (T2, 10 wks from 21 Apr)
             Wednesdays - 11:30 am - 12:20 pm (T2, 10 wks from 22 Apr)
             Thursdays - 11:45am - 12:45pm (T2, 10 wks from 23 Apr)

COST: $12 per class when paid in full for the term / $15 casual

INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS:
Sara has extensive training and experience in physical fitness and is our tutor for the Strength Training classes at Hampton Community Centre, focusing on targeting specific physical health and fitness goals.

Ava is currently studying her Bachelors in Exercise and Sport Science.

Sienna is an Accredited Exercise Scientist and is currently studying her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

Please note: Term 2 enrolments are currently only open to existing participants. We'll be welcoming enrolments from new participants from Tuesday 7 April. Enrolments received prior to this may be refunded if the class reaches capacity before bookings open to new participants.

  • TERM DATES 2026

    Term 1: 27 Jan – 5 April

  • REFUNDS & CREDITS

    • There are no refunds for any class bookings. Once booked, the class fees are non-refundable.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it is valid for use within the same calendar year in which it was applied.
    • If a credit is issued to customers, it can be applied towards any eligible workshop offered during the same calendar year.
    • The credit is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of payment.
    • It is the Management discretion if a credit is offered to customers.
  • MEMBERSHIP & CLASS FEES

    • A $20 membership fee per calendar year is required when joining a class or workshop at our centres.
    • The membership fee covers usage at both Highett and Hampton Community Centres.
    • The membership fee is non-refundable.
    • Class fees for the following term must be paid before the end of the current term to secure your spot in the class.
    • If you plan on "missing a term," class fees must still be paid to ensure your place in the class for the subsequent term.
    • The membership fee is separate from the class fees and is payable annually per calendar year.
