Young [at heart] Adventurers League!
Young [at heart] Adventurers League!
Highett Community Centre
A Dungeons & Dragons quest for adventurers of the golden age
Pull up a chair, pour yourself a cup and gather with fellow adventurers for a morning of mystery, laughter and storytelling. In the Young (at heart) Adventurers League, players become wise wanderers, curious caretakers or retired heroes solving gentle mysteries in a realm filled with charm, secrets and magic.
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is an ageless, easy to play, tabletop roleplaying game where the players assume the role of an adventurer who is part of a group called “the party”. The party in collaboration with the Game Master, who creates the high fantasy world the adventurers live in, weave stories of their numerous quests, triumph and sometimes defeats.
WHY JOIN OUR QUEST?
D&D is great for Brain Health:
- Improves Memory: Remembering characters, rules and story details stimulates recall and strengthens memory
- Boosts Focus & Attention: Staying engaged in the story helps train concentration over longer periods
- Sharpens Analytical Thinking: Problem-solving, puzzles, and strategic decisions keep the brain active and adaptive
- Enhances Communication Skills: Roleplaying encourages clear speech, active listening and social expression.
- Stimulates Creativity & Imagination: Creating characters and stories exercises abstract thinking
- Supports Cognitive Health: Regular mental stimulation can help delay or reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia
- Fosters Social Connection: Engaging with others in a shared story builds friendship and emotional wellbeing
No experience necessary—just a love of good company and a taste for adventure.
